process

The space

Every project begins with architecture, light, palette, scale, and the atmosphere you want to create. We discuss the location, budget, and timing so the direction is grounded in the project.

The surface

Individual sheets of metal leaf are applied by hand. Pigment, photographic imagery, and layered washes are built up, rubbed back, and revealed, creating a surface that responds to changing light.

The finished work

Studies guide the composition and material direction. Scale, framing, delivery, and installation needs are agreed as the work develops, with the room and the experience of its guests in mind.
